American Attitudes Toward Chinese-Americans & Asian-Americans - Full Report and Key Findings

This study, completed in April 2001, is the first of its kind and will be used as a benchmark to measure attitudes the general public has of Chinese and Asian Americans. The objectives of the study are to understand:

  • Perceived attitudes and stereotypes of Chinese Americans
  • The nature and extent of negative attitudes toward China and Chinese Americans
  • Attitudes toward Asian Americans and immigration
The study was conducted by Yankelovich Partners in collaboration and consultation with The Marttila Communications Group and the Anti-Defamation League.
